Bio: Dr. Yang Fan has many years of teaching experience on strategic management and international business at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Prior to joining academia, she worked in the fields of sales and marketing in FMCG and in the consulting industry. Yang did her Ph.D. at London Business School on strategic & international management, her Master's at Manchester Business School on international business & management, and her Bachelor's at Shanghai Jiao Tong University on English literature and business studies.
Bio: Maarten Biermans studied Philosophy and Economics at the University of Amsterdam, where he also obtained his PhD in Economics. While working on his dissertation on the topic of economics and morality (using International Labor Standards and the Decent Work Agenda of the International Labour Organization as case studies), he was a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. Before joining Spring Associates, a strategy consultancy specialized in responsible investing located in Amsterdam, he worked at SEO Economic Research at the University of Amsterdam.
Truus Poels, Ph.D, LL.M.
Specialization: Organizational Development and Change
Bio: Dr. Truus Poels LLM is an experienced manager in Human Resource Management, Change Management, and Organizational Development. She worked as Head of Human Resources in a variety of companies and has experience with multinational companies. She also worked as a Senior Management Consultant with, e.g., health, governmental, defence, industry, financial, and pharmaceutical organizations. She regularly speaks at international conferences and gives guest lectures for organizations and universities. Dr. Poels has a PhD from Utrecht University. A model of organizational rhythmics was developed in her PhD thesis, Rhythmics of Organizational Change. She is a founder and chairperson of the Innovation Platform Rhythmics of Organizational Change (I-RO). The I-RO’s members are CIO's, directors of HR, and professors of universities. This platform examines the theme of organizational changes with the aim of developing practical and useable rhythm instruments for more effective and successful change processes. Dr. Poels worked for several universities and lectured in Organizational Development and Change, (International) Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Innovation & Creativity and Management and coached students with their research and theses. She has been a Professor at the Antwerp Management School since 2014 and at Webster University Leiden since May 2015.
Johan Rambi, M.A.
Specialization: Cyber Security
Bio: Johan Rambi is a Corporate Privacy & Security Advisor within the department of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at Alliander, and he is responsible for the development and monitoring of corporate Privacy & Security policies and guidelines in the organization. Johan also supports the organization with Privacy & Security (Impact) assessments, requirements and measures in the role of subject matter expert. As a former Privacy & Security officer, Johan implemented the controls of the Privacy Audit Proof certification for the Smart Metering processes in the organization. Johan is active in several European expert groups (e.g., European Energy Cyber Security Platform, Network and Information Security platform, Data Protection Impact Assessment template) for the European Commission and standardization committees on Privacy and Cyber Security. Johan is well-known at European and US conferences for to disseminating the best practices on Privacy, Smart Meter- and Smart Grid Cyber Security. Johan launched the European Energy-ISAC in December 2015 as co-founder and interim chair, to promote international collaboration and information sharing in the energy sector. Before Johan joined Alliander, he has worked as a security architect and consultant at different organizations for the last 18 years.
Andreas Rambow, M.B.A.

Bio: Mr. Rambow is an educational leader, coach, and consultant with more than 20 years of experience in higher education. His academic interests are in accounting, finance, economics, and leadership. He has an MBA from Marymount University and is currently pursuing a terminal degree in education.
Golam Robbani, Ph.D.
Specialization: Finance, Economics, Accounting
Bio: Dr. Robbani has a multidisciplinary background with a PhD in Applied Economics (Antwerp) and three Master’s degrees: M.Com (Bangladesh); MBA (Philippines); and MILE (Switzerland). He has more than 20 years of university teaching experience, including six years at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University (Netherlands) and two years at the Hague University of Applied Sciences. Every year he teaches two summer courses on Finance and Accounting at Maastricht University.
Catherine Garcia van Hoogstraten, M.A.
Specialization: Cyber Law
Bio: Catherine Garcia van Hoogstraten was trained in Information Security at the Deloitte Academy and the Interdisciplinary Summer School on Privacy (2016, organized by Nijmegen University, Princeton University, and iMind). With more than 14 years’ experience working in policy, strategy, and research roles within academia, government agencies, the private sector, and think tanks, she has collaborated with cross-functional teams at all levels in tackling the challenges of the information age. Van Hoogstraten is an expert at the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF), a senior lecturer at the MS in Cybersecurity-Webster University, and a senior lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Public Management, Law and Safety at The Hague University of applied Sciences. She has jointly designed and lectured for the 'Cyber Security Minor' at the Centre of Expertise Cyber Security and the Faculty of Law and IT & Design. She is also a lecturer in 'Digital Innovation' in Latin America. She is engaged in collaborative networks of expert groups such as Trust in the Digital Life professional network-IDNext (EU), as well as a Member of the Platform for Accredited Cybercrime Experts (EC3Europol), the Ibero American Network of Innovation in Public Administration (Ibero-America), the Governance Lab(United States of America), and the World Bank Group’s Women, Business and the Law. She is currently involved in the wider innovation ecosystem, applied science, action research, knowledge transfer institutions, crowdfunding policy, public-private partnerships, innovation hubs, and accelerators. Her work focuses on the intersections of Internet Governance, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Information Technology, and on the fascinating influence emerging technologies have on society.

Arie Barendregt, Ph.D.

Bio: Arie Barendregt (56) has been active in European business-to-business sales and marketing management since 1980. He is commercial director at De Jong Verpakking in De Lier, an independent Dutch corrugated board packaging manufacturer. Arie has been a part-time teacher of Total Cost of Ownership at t NVC in Gouda and of Professor Strategy and Competition as well as Managerial Economics in the Executive M.B.A. program at Webster University in Leiden since 2002. He also teaches Strategy and Competition and Marketing Management in 3 M.B.A. programs at Hogeschool Den Haag (where he received the “lecturer of the year” award in 2012, 2013, and 2014). Arie also owns a consulting company, Stracom Intelligence, and has publications on strategy, marketing, and competition in various journals. Arie completed his postgraduate marketing NIMA-C in 1994, and then finished his M.B.A. with distinction at Kingston University in 1996. In May 2008, he received the top title RM, Register Marketeer. He obtained his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Kingston University in January 2011, with research focusing on the unknown competitor study practices of small Dutch business-to-business enterprises. His thesis, Do Small Enterprises Study Competitors, is available worldwide through 30 internet bookstores.
Aljosja Beije, M.Sc.
Specialization: Project Management, Operations Management
Bio: Mr. Beije received his M.Sc. in Operations Research from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and is also a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner. He has been involved in various (international) projects for companies such as GE, Kuehne + Nagel and Nokia as project manager and/or steering committee member. In 2008, he started his own business, with a focus on IT and corporate recovery. Since 2012, he has been co-owner of a consultancy and interim management firm, and recently, an investment and advisory firm.
Mr. Frans Boumans, M.B.A.
Bio: Mr. Boumans has been teaching courses since 1989 and next to this, he has been working with different banks in the fields of commercial and investment banking with small and medium sized companies as well as larger corporates in the Netherlands and abroad. He obtained his M.B.A., with a specialization in finance, from Erasmus Rochester University (1988).

Specialization: Governance Issues
Bio: Hans de Hoog holds a Master's degree in International Relations (Leiden, 1982) and Economics (Rotterdam, 1983). He worked as a consultant and partner in the area of Public Affairs (1987-1994) and was a director of Corporate Communications at the insurance company Delta Lloyd (1994-1998). He is the founder and co-owner of Grexx (2000), an IT-company based in Naarden (www.grexx.net also in English). During the last eight years, he has specialized in governance and organization issues and has founded www.thegovernancehub.com (in Dutch).
Marcel de Lijster, M.B.A.

Bio: Marcel de Lijster is the business owner of “Down 2 Earth Dutch,” With his company, he helps organizations to build programs for skills management and lifelong learning that support the continued employability of employees. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Marcel de Lijster worked in the financial industry as a banker. He has 27 years of working experience in the financial industry, for 23 of which he held leadership and management positions. He worked at one of the largest banks in Holland. He can be branded as a real people manager. He is also an “acknowledged” coach and helps people with their personal and career development. He has experience and knowledge of Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Change Management, Risk management, and Financial Control. He holds an M.B.A. degree with an emphasis on Management from Webster University. He has been a member of the Webster faculty since 2004 and teaches courses in Organizational Behavior, Management, Managerial Leadership, Decision Making, and Strategic Management.
Jim de Wilde, M.A.
Bio: After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an emphasis on Marketing from Webster University in 1991, Jim de Wilde took a Master’s degree in International Economics and Management at the SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy (1992). At Bocconi he co-lectured the marketing course and wrote a marketing plan for Mexx clothing. After his studies, Jim de Wilde joined Procter & Gamble, where he spent most of his time working as a Brand Manager, marketing several different consumer brands. After 5 years at P&G, he returned to the privately owned Stinger BV. At Stinger he is CEO. He does extensive consultancy work for middle-large and large corporations in marketing and business strategies. He has been teaching strategies, marketing, and advertising at Webster to both graduate and undergraduate classes as of 1993.
Stephen Foster, Ph.D.
Specialization: Organizational Behavior
Bio: Dr. Foster received his Ph.D. at the Training Research Laboratory of the University of Illinois. His experiences include work in contract, credit, and marketing management in steel and electronics industries in the USA; and faculty member of Universities in Canada, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. He has offered classes and workshops in many parts of the world, and has (co)-authored more than 200 academic papers, chapters, & books, which have appeared in English, French, German, Dutch, & Chinese. He has taught psychology and management at Webster for over 15 years and is currently Professor of Organizational Behavior at MSM--The Maastricht School of Management, and a Management Development Consultant in private practice.

Bio: Folake Guobadia is a Certified Accountant with over 15 years working experience, 10 of which were at a Big 4 consultancy company, where she was exposed to various assignment types ranging from Tax consultancy, Human Resources, Due diligence, and Audit. Charlene Lambert, M.A.

Bio: Charlene Lambert’s interest in foreign languages was instrumental in developing her desire for an international career. She earned a B.A. in Modern Languages from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, a Master's in Planning from the University of Ottawa, Canada, and a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo, Canada. She has worked for the past 20 years in the fields of international city marketing, foreign direct investment, regional economic development, and entrepreneurship for organizations in both Canada and the Netherlands. As an appointed member of the European-funded research program COST (Cooperation in Science and Technology), she is participating in the study to strengthen interdisciplinary research.
Maja Micevska, Ph.D.
Specialization: Economics, Statistics
Bio: Maja Micevska Scharf holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Claremont Graduate University, USA. She has held appointments at universities and research institutes in the USA and several European countries. She has been mainly engaged in applied research, and has extensive experience in modeling and policy analysis using large datasets. Her work has been published in academic journals and collections.

Bio: Rossitza Rousseva is an experienced lecturer, researcher, and strategy and management consultant. Her areas of expertise are: Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and International Business Management.
She holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, an M.Sc. in International Business Management, an M.Sc. in Science and Technology Policy, and a B.A. in Business Administration.
She has broad, international working experience in 5 EU countries (UK, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Bulgaria) with professionals from all over the world in leading universities (UNU MERIT, SPRU (UK), Webster University, Delft University of Technology, University of Maastricht), and in leading innovative high-tech companies (start-ups, SMEs, and MNEs). She has given many presentations at workshops and conferences in US, UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, China, India, etc.
Since 2000, she has been teaching Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and International Business, and has been providing strategy and management consulting and training to start-ups, SMEs, and MNEs. Bernadette van Houten, M.A.

Bio: Bernadette van Houten has an academic background in communication, with later specialization in intercultural theory, methodology, and medical anthropology. She has lived and worked in the USA, Guatemala, and Aruba. She has had extended training and advising missions in Mexico, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Lithuania. Ms. van Houten is the director of Consultants Intercultural Communication in Amsterdam. She coaches managers for international assignments and facilitates international teams throughout the world. She lectures and facilitates seminars on intercultural and diversity management for universities throughout Europe. She is a member of the International Academy of Intercultural Research. She has been a faculty member of Webster University since 1998.
Marjon van Opijnen, M.B.A.
Specialization: Business Ethics
Bio: Over the past 15 years, Ms. an Opijnen’s main focus has been on social sustainability and justice in the Netherlands, Europe, Africa, and Asia. In the different positions she has held, she has operated on operational and strategic levels within organizations and in relation with external stakeholders. Where applicable, she also touches upon the more systemic change that projects or problems require. The main fields in which she initiated and carried out projects are: sustainable supply chain management, human rights, sustainable business development, strategy & policy development, leadership and economic & business transition to a new economy, and sustainable society. Furthermore, Ms. Van Opijnen has been teaching Responsible Business at the Nyenrode New Business School since 2008. She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Applied Ethics. She successfully fulfilled the basic auditors training for SAI and followed several trainings in the area of systemic work and leadership.
Victor Rodriguez, Ph.D.

Bio: Dr. Victor RODRIGUEZ holds a B.K.O. teaching certificate (Twente University, 2011) and a Ph.D. (doctor) degree in Applied Economics (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, 2008). Dr. Rodriguez is a senior expert in the economic and legal aspects of intellectual property rights and innovation. He has been affiliated with several learned societies. He has been conducting innovative research in the field of biological material transfer agreements in biotechnology and license agreements in pharmacogenomics. In addition, he has extended experience in European Union consulting projects on patents, corporate R&D, and innovation. Further, he was one of the Managing Editors for the Special Issue on Corporate R&D of the journal Economics of Innovation and New Technologies. He has contributed articles to international refereed journals. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in Economics in the Department of Legal and Economic Governance Studies at the School of Management and Governance of Universiteit Twente in The Netherlands. He was a tenured researcher in the TNO Innovation Policy Group and a visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa and the Conference Board of Canada. He also carried out research at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC and at the Cordoba Science Agency. Finally, he has proven external advisory experience, a track record in acquisitions of external funding for research, and access to a relevant network in his 17 years of experience.
Danielle Kitover, M.Sc.
Bio: Danielle Kitover has an M.Sc. in Hydrology from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. in Climate Modeling at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam in the Department of Earth Sciences. While at the VU, she assisted the undergraduate Statistics and Data Analysis course for four terms (2010 – 2013). She has been mainly engaged in completing her current research but enjoys the challenge of teaching the practicality of statistics, useful in any academic discipline.
Madeleine van der Steege, M.A.
Madeleine is a managing editor, award-winning female entrepreneur, master coach, researcher, and writer. She was ‘Woman of the Year Regional Entrepreneur’ in South Africa in 2004. In 2009 she established European operations for Cranimals, a Vancouver organic pet food company. In 2013 Madeleine founded Synquity in the Netherlands, which offers training in leadership and coaching solutions. She is also an adjunct professor at Webster University, Leiden, the EU representative for TLH Auctioneers, and a management board member of The Bijlmerproject.
Danielle Walsh, M.A.
Danielle Walsh has a unique combination of expertise in various digital marketing areas and experience working with both companies and agencies. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from the University of NSW and a Master’s in Business (E-Business Management) from the University of Technology, both in Sydney, Australia. In addition, Danielle has around 20 years’ commercial experience in International Marketing Communications. She has worked for multinational, government and start-up corporations. Some of the companies/brands she has gained experience with are: Warner Bros., Mattel Inc., Coca Cola, Mars Inc., Nikon, Canon, and Universal Pictures. Danielle also brings experience from the agency side, having worked for digital heavy-weights such as Sapient Nitro. Her areas of expertise are digital marketing, content marketing, digital strategy, and digital transformation. Her international focus has meant that Danielle has lived and worked in: Australia, UK, China, and the Netherlands. Danielle has teaching qualifications and experience teaching marketing subjects both in Europe and overseas.
Paul Williams, Ph.D.
Specialization: Global sustainable development
Bio: Paul offers wide-ranging experience gained through 30 years working in an international environment, including regional and global roles in strategy, marketing, communications (corporate, marketing, integration, change), management, team building, policy, and public representation, in several market-leading multi-national business-to-business organizations. His role throughout has been to inspire operational excellence and to drive commitment, engagement, and success at all organizational levels. His academic background, to Ph.D. level, includes many aspects of environmental management, policy, and governmental decision-making. To date, his working career, including 24 years with the world’s largest sustainability services company, has included many aspects of corporate, regional, and inter-personal communications, including writing, editing, delivering speeches (for example with the United Nations Environment Program), papers (for example for the G8 World Leader’s Conference), reports, strategy papers, and policies; development and management of quality policies and procedures; development and management of local, regional and global teams. Since 2014, Paul has been a lecturer in marketing and communications within the international programs of the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, and Lecturer in CSR, science and technology, at Webster University Leiden.
